Zenith Cal. 146 Chronograph – Gold Panda Elegance from the 1960s

This exceptional Zenith chronograph is a perfect reminder that the manufacture’s greatness extends far beyond the famous El Primero. At its heart beats the highly respected Zenith Cal. 146, a beautifully engineered column-wheel chronograph movement originally developed by Martel, the legendary movement maker later absorbed by Zenith in 1960.

Before the acquisition, Martel supplied chronograph calibers to prestigious manufacturers including Universal Genève, which explains the exceptional quality and refinement of this movement.

This example perfectly showcases Zenith’s mid-century craftsmanship. Housed in an elegant 18k yellow gold case, the watch features a stunning gold sunburst “panda” dial with contrasting sub-registers, creating a look that is both sporty and highly sophisticated.

Preserved in outstanding unpolished condition and powered by one of the great vintage chronograph movements, this is a truly collectible Zenith from the golden era of Swiss watchmaking.
